All of Sunvox’s commands/shortcuts are customizable, so you can literally “learn” whatever function to whatever button. They’d just be blank white buttons to enter musical commands, just like Tracker. Just imagine if the buttons on the Pocket PC weren’t lettered. But for me the form factor is so different, and with the buttons being silicon, it’s not going to feel at all like a laptop. I’m having a hard time being productive on Sunvox/Renoise on a laptop after a bajillion hours spent with the qwerty. I hear what you’re saying about getting away from the qwerty.

And you can just setup Linux to boot Sunvox into full screen on startup. And since Sunvox is free (donation), I have a self-contained tracker in a neat little box running Sunvox as its “operating system” for $199. So when I found out about the new hand held Pocket PC with those specs, I jumped on it. That’s why I was gravitating more towards the hand held form factor of m8 and Nerdseq Portable. Plus, the small memory and track count would be a tough hit.Īnd for me the form factor of Tracker is not much different than a laptop. No velocity on the pads didn’t give me much motivation to leave qwerty. Then the GAS slowly wore off and I couldn’t justify the expense when the specs were announced. I pooped my pants when Tracker was announced because I’ve wanted a dedicated hardware tracker since like 98.
